A Haunting in Denton: August 2009

Saturday, August 15, 2009

The movie Trick 'r Treat is scheduled to be released on DVD in October.
The film features four interwoven stories that occur on Halloween: An everyday high school principal has a secret life as a serial killer; a college virgin might have just met the one guy for her; a group of teenagers pull a mean prank; and a woman who loathes the night has to contend with her holiday-obsessed husband.

Halloween Decorations

Me and Elise went to Hobby Lobby on Friday. They don't seem to have that much this year, nothing I wanted anyway.
We checked out Michaels again. They have a BIG bat for $12.99 I think I will use my 40% coupon on it. A person can never have too many bats.

Halloween Magazines

The Halloween magazines are begining to show up in the stores.
I picked up the Celebrate Fall magazine at Michael's Don't waste your money on this one, especially when the price is $7.99.
I found the Pil Best Recipes, Halloween Food, Fun & Crafts at Target. As usual this will be one of my favorites. My favorite recipes from this issue are the Spaghetti and Eyeballs, Candy Corn Pizza, Feet of Meat, Spook on a Stick, and Green Meanies. Lots of other neat recipes. well worth the price of 3.99.
I found the Taste of Home Halloween issue. I want to try the Cheesenstine Dip recipe and the Ghosts A-Glowing craft. Several recipe repeats from back issues. It has some cute costume and craft ideas. Cost of this one is $5.99.

85 Days Till Halloween

I went shopping today to see if anyone has Halloween Goodies out yet.
I got 4 tombstones, 2 small skeletons, a skeleton necklace, and a dozen skulls at Dollar Tree.
I found some bloody fingers in Michaels. I picked up my first magazine for the fall season "Celebrate Fall". It has a few Halloween recipes in it. Still waiting on Martha Stewart's to come out.

Jennifer and Shane

After the wedding Jennifer and Joel had a party at their house.

We had her reception at our house.

Elise

I spent $50.00 for a long black and orange dress for Elise to wear as Jennifer's Flower Girl. She wanted no part of it. She cried and refused to wear her dress. She saw her cousin wearing a Thomas the Tank Engine costume and ended up taking it from him.
